Vetamorphosis

The Pre-Veterinary Medical Association is an active student-led organization at Florida Atlantic University designed to act as an organizational forum for students interested in a career in veterinary medicine. This blog presents PVMA members with the opportunity to follow along as two of our own FAU alumni make their way through the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine degree program and become doctors of veterinary medicine.

About Us

As pre‐veterinary students, we understand that a career in veterinary medicine is challenging and extremely competitive, but it is also quite rewarding and diverse. Christie Gonzalez and Trevor Detrick co‐founded the PVMA to provide a platform for students to get the most from an education at FAU and to find opportunities that can increase their chances of entering a veterinary college of their choice. Some of the PVMA's goals include development of a guest lecture series, volunteer programs, peer advising and a "shadowing" program to match students with mentors. Through public outreach programs, we also hope to provide our members with the opportunity to support their community and to develop leadership skills that so many of today's colleges wish to see in their graduate students. Together, we hope to provide the support that our pre-veterinary students at FAU need to succeed!
